It depends on the tree.  Certain trees morph only on production.  Others
morph in combat.  Some do both.  Some are tied to your weapon - you
supposedly can't morph past regional hero unless you're wielding a power 5
or better weapon.  Some are tied to marks - you supposedly can't morph to
demigod without one.  There are spells which give some of the higher
statuses.  If you have a high-level priest and some rare resources, you can
commune to get a character to morph (but depending on the level, it's
*expensive*).  Your best bet is to simply get into a lot of fights.  Big
fights.

One thing you can do is special action an NPC to find out about your status.
In RTI5, I have a Spirit of Vol character (third tier of the Blessed of Vol
tree).  I special action'ed the Third Darkslayer of Vol (Vol title) to find out
what it would take to morph again, and I was told there are no conditions, just
a percentage chance which is really low.  But the character you special action
must make sense.  For a religious status, just ask anyone with a title of that
religion, and for any other, just ask anyone with a higher status than yours.

But be careful.  There is a netherworld status called "Greater Daemon" and a
monster race called "Greater Daemon".  If you mis-identify a monster, he may
decide to reward your stupidity by eating you.
