I do not think the level of the Bard's skill affects his chance of success, merely how good a Curse or Bless he can put on. I find that it works like casting the spell bless, with the bard putting in as many spell points as his Bard skill. A character's magic resistance counts against this and can stop you getting a 100% bless. This experience is from ROTI in the UK. Dean Up
