PBEM: Hero Characters From: ez002182@dale.ucdavis.edu (John Banagan) Date: Fri, 19 Mar 1993 16:37:42 +0000 Hi, I will be running a PBEM game using the Hero rules system. Turns will be roughly 2 to 3 times a week, depending on school and work schedule (2 atleast). The information I need from people are listed below. If you have any questions or would like to audit the sessions, then please feel free to contact me. I am looking for 5 people to play. THE STAGE Genre: Tour of Duty Location: Republic of Viet Nam Heroic Level: Competent Normals (100 pts.) THE ACTORS Characters will be based on 50 pts. bonus and 50 pts. of disadvantages. There will be a chracteristic maxima of 20, anything over 20 will cost double (figured stats vary). All skills allowed as well as all talents, however, characters must justify talents in order to have them. Equipment is supplied by Uncle Sam (all the beans-n-bullets a 'leg' can want). NO PSYCHIC POWERS OR ELEMENTA CONTROLS! This is not an alternate Earth. The characters are all soldiers in the U.S. Army. They are all infantry sodiers specializing in Long Range Patrols (LRP's). They will belong to 1st squad, 1st platoon, Charlie Company loacted near the heavy action. Please be aware that the location is a dangerous one, so don't get too attached to your character; it's a dangerous world out there with charlie and bboby-traps all over the place. I'll take more characters past the ones I needed and put them on a waiting list and cycle them through should pc's die in the line of duty. Individuals can turn in more than one character however, they must specify in which order they will be played (play a, and if a dies, play b, etc...). Jeff Johnson has been gracious enough to supply a 'grunt' package deal for those of you who wish to use it. Fw Small Arms(2), +1w/rifles(3), Survival(3), PS:Soldier(2), PS: Infantry(2), Fw AK: Vietnam(1) TOTAL 13 BONUS -2 That's all I can think of for now. If you are interested, then drop me a line. War is hell, and boy this one is gonna be a bloody one! John Banagan (jvbanagan@ucdavis.edu) Up
