Raymond E. Feist's "Kelewan" saga From: bc@lnec.pt (Luis Miguel Sequeira) Date: Mon, 15 Mar 1993 11:13:50 +0000 Hiya PBMers, Anyone out there is familiar with Raymond E. Feist's books, in particular with those of the Kelewan saga, ie. the Tsurani world described in "Daughter of the Empire", "Servant of the Empire", "Mistress of the Empire" or the other books of the Riftwar? A friend of mine is seriously thinking about doing a PBM/PBeM on the Kelewan world, each player, obviously, getting a House and fighting to become Warlord of the Empire... and staying that way! :-) I'll perhaps help him out (heh heh), so I'd be interested in exchanging some ideas... :-) For those who don't know R.E.F.'s work, the Kelewan world is similar (but not equal!) to Middle-Age Japan. Honor is everything, and each House is engaged in complex (and ritualized) political maneuvers to achieve honor and a place in the Great Game (... of politics). While war is a way of fulfilling one's desires, the Tsurani (this is the name of that race) culture has also ritualized most aspects of war, and they are but one of the many, many ways of achieving one's results... this _could_ be a great game of politics & diplomacy (once developed...)! If you want to discuss it, feel free to email me, Zanx, Luis _________________________________________________________________________ / / Computer scientists do it byte by byte. _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/_/ _/_/ _/ We don't ask for miracles to get the job _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ done, we RELY upon them! _/ _/ _/ _/ If the job still isn't done, we'll stick _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ with Emacs instead... bc@lnec.pt Luis Miguel Sequeira Laboratorio Nacional de Engenharia Civil Phone 351-1-8482131 Ext. 2752 Centro Informatica/Grupo Sistemas Centrais "Don't call me, I'll call you" Av.
