Legends: Training soldiers From: minnotte@stat.rice.edu (Michael Minnotte) Date: Fri, 26 Mar 1993 18:37:24 +0000 Well, after hearing so much for so long about Legends, my wife and I have gotten the rules, and are preparing to send off setups for NIC 4. I'm sure we're going to come up with lots of questions for you Legends-gurus, but we'll start with a few. If I (Hero) train soldiers for her (Overlord), am I reading things correctly that she must transfer (gift?) everything (population, armor, weapons, gold, etc.) into my force, after which I transfer the soldiers back to her? Or is there an easier way for me to supply the expertise while she supplys everything else? How many crowns (approximately) do the various positions start with? Do the Heroes and Adventuring parties have any regular income to begin with, or do they have to get their gold from looting things and selling their services to Overlords and Mercenaries? Finally, do characters (or positions) ever start with the flora (or other special materials) they need to cast their spells (or make healing potions or poisons, or whatever)?
