WANTED: Players for Complex Strategy Game From: bgohari@wam.umd.edu (Babak Gohari) Date: Sat, 24 Apr 1993 16:15:19 +0000 Hello, game players: I have created and developed a very complex game for the past 4 years called Solar Conquest. In short, it is a game in which you try to take over a group of star systems. The problem is, so are your enemies. The game is complex in that there are many things you can do. You have to take direct control of your economy (which includes everything from taxing, to social welfare, to production capabilities, to technological studies). You have direct control over your military (everything from simple patrols to logistics, and the fact that there are scores of different units each with its own strengths and weaknesses). Add in terrain (yes, there is terrain) and random uncontrolled factors, and you have a fun game. Over the past few years, I have run several full campaigns and numerous mini campaigns, and I am confident that all the bugs and what not have been ironed out. I am now ready to try a full campaign with my final version. I am thus looking for approximately 8-12 smart strategists to play this new game. Keep in mind that the game will take some time, especially once the empires become larger and thus more complex. I need you to be very good in getting turns in on time. I would prefer experienced gamers if possible. If you're interested, please email me at the address above. Once I have enough people, I will send out the instructions (which is quite large, to say the least). Oh, and one last thing, of the scores of people who have played this game in the past, even when it still had some bugs, there was not one person who didn't love playing it. Thanks again, Bob Up
