Legends: Skills and Attributes From: minnotte@stat.rice.edu (Michael Minnotte) Date: Thu, 06 May 1993 16:17:07 +0000 Your skills and (especially) attributes can be increased over your "base" ratings by spells (charms), statuses, and items. (Anything else?) 1) If you have increased a skill/attribute by one of these methods, and you practice, which level is used to determine chance of increase, base or effective? For example, if I have 6 levels of tactics, but give myself another 4 points from "charm of leadership," and then practice tactics, will my probability of an increase be 56% (= (20-6)*4) or 40% (= (20-10)*4)? 2) Do bless spells affect "bonus levels"? If after I have my 4 level charm of leadership, someone were to bless me 100%, would my level in tactics be 20 (= (6+4)*2), 16 (= 6*2 + 4), or 12 (= 6*2, overriding 4 point gain from charm)? 3) Also, a question about the FAQ. I can see the Seer's crystal being a strong reason to make an arcanist a Seer, but the advantages for Summoner and Druid seem to be their spell choices. Is this true? If so, do people really consider them that much better than the examples of types to avoid (warlock, good duel spells and charms; illusionist, good battle spells; enchanter, potential to learn runecraft - or can anyone do that?)? Just curious. Thanks, Mike Minnotte minnotte@math.usu.edu Referenced By Up
