As pointed out by cmp0118@sys.uea.ac.uk (S. Green), Elu Thingol is a good choice
too.  He fits the Greycloak part, which Beren does not.  The year of trees is
probably a reference to Telperion and the other one, the trees in the land of the
Valar (the name of which temporarily escapes me).

Another possibility is Luthien, who was drawn to the strange, girdle-breaking
Beren, and was the daughter of a greycloak born while the light of trees still
shone.  She also defied the powers of Morgoth, (and indeed with Beren the powers
of the sons of Feanor) and yet was entrapped by her love of Beren.

So my answer is Luthien Tinuviel.
