DM players: I surrender From: burgesmw@cnsvax.uwec.edu Date: Tue, 01 Jun 1993 01:20:22 +0000 I surrender. I will no longer bash DM except for a line here and there once in a while. I can't help it. I haven't figured out why DM is so addictive (maybe it is something on the paper 8) ) but I am tired of discussing it. If you have any questions about AG, just post them or write me. All you DM players; I hope you have a great time but if you ever become slightly bored, take a look at AG and give it a try. Now for some thoughts. I would just like to say that we didn't bash DM after we finished playing, but we always bashed DM when we were playing. You always bash the the problems that are in the game. We even bash AG on some of the things that we think are wrong. The only difference is that the GM of AG will listen and try to correct or explain the problems. David commented on how the NET DM'ers are spoon fed all the info and it perhaps takes away some of the fun. I would have to disagree. DM is far to complex to figure out on your own (even the programmers for RSI can't explain how everything works). I would have to say that some of you are more likely to continue playing because you have been given some insight. It didn't take long for newbies to get thrashed all the time and give up (if they didn't seek help). I would like to ask Garth to post the reasons why he continues to play the game. Why he hasn't become bored with it after all these years. What keeps him playing the game. I am just curious as to what keeps him going. Wars between managers. That is what can be really fun in DM. Just find someone in the ads who annoys you and start challenging him all the time. The wars I had were great and sometimes deadly to me. Later, Matt Referenced By Up
