STRATEGIC - FANTASY PLAY- From: joey.browning@datadim.com (Joey Browning) Date: Thu, 03 Jun 1993 10:22:00 +0000 -> From: paisley@palmer.aoml.erl.gov (James Paisley) -> Newsgroups: rec.games.pbm -> Subject: Strategic - Fantasy Play-by-Snail-Mail -> Date: 1 Jun 1993 21:29:38 GMT -> Message-ID: <1ugho2$fs8@wave.aoml.erl.gov> -> Keywords: PBM -> -> Hello all - has anyone played the commercial PBM games Alamaze and/or -> Middle-Earth Play-by-Mail recently? I was a playtester for both of -> them, and I'm wondering how they're doing... advTHANKSance I'm playing both. Of the two, Alamaze is the better game, I think. GSI (the moderators of ME-PBM) have clockwork-like turnaround, but are very inflexible and aloof. Also, the game positions are NOT in any way balanced. Alamaze, now that Pegasus Prod. has moved to Waynesville, is running turns right on time, and is just about to undergo a major program revision to make things much better in terms of errors, randomizing startups, etc. (This is an overdue revision, but their contract programmer quit on them, and they had to get someone else to finish things up). Alamaze is just more fun, as well - espically if ypu play a 2nd Cycle game. Need the current addresses of either? Joey Browninig joey.browning@datadim.com Up
