DM: Weird turns From: jas@rdii.com (Jim Smith) Date: Mon, 21 Jun 1993 20:09:24 +0000 The weirdest thing has been happening. I have a slasher that is acting very unslasher like. She is 11-5(4)-9-15-17-15-13, does GREAT DAMAGE, is INTELLIGENT, INCREDIBLY QUICK and ACTIVE, HIGHLY COORDINATED, VERY FRAIL, carries VERY LITTLE and is INCREDIBLY QUICK and ELUSIVE. She has an AdEx in Init, and Experts in Attack and Decise, with a record of 6-3-2. I had been running her 10-8-6 or 10-10-6, (yes, I know that slashers like low AL and high OE, but I figured this might help her stay alive,) and she was doing OK, including going 6-3-0 in the fool's apprentice tourney. After she got the AdEx, I tried using a low to moderate AL (3-5) with a high OE (9-10) and moderate KD (6-7), but using that strategy, she kept getting jumped in minute 1 and driven desparate. That may not be that unusual in and of itself, but when her desparation strategy kicked in, (3-9-3-Dodge), she would steal the initiative, and kick ass all the way to Sunday! Once she even got one of those "twists imposs- ibly away from the blow, amazing the spectators" messages right after going desparate, and just before carving her opponent into ribbons. Anybody got any idea why this should happen? Is it possible that her favorite AL is 3, or is it the KD that is causing this? This has happened twice in a row now, the first time against a 3-3-0 slasher and the second time while bloodfueding a 2-1-1 striker. I'd appreciate any ideas on what I should try next. I am considering trying either 10-3-3 or 3-3-7 just to see what happens, but I don't want to get her killed in the process. Any suggestions?
