Well, it doesn't accomplish the same thing.  The two forces would attack
sequentially (in the order the moved, if encounter orders are used) and
each group would fight a separate battle.  (On battle orders, I don't
know how th order is resolved.)

However, having multiple battles isn't entirely bad.  If your
opponent has some spell castes who are using out-of-realm battle spells
or expensive AA battle spells, sending 4 or 5 forces ahead of your main
attack force might just run the spell casters out of mana.
