Wring sorry - this assumes that the robot can reach the ball. If you give the
robot the same athletic capabilities as a human, then you are not guarenteed that
the robot can reply.

Who said we were talking about play by correspondence games. I searched through
all the back articles and not once did it mention this.

Moreover its kind of irrelevant because you confuse simulation time with real
time. In real time in a correspondence game you indeed have lots of time to
answer, you answer at your leisure. But if your correspondence game is to be a good
representation of tennis it will somehow need to capture that in a game of tennis
you have little time. So don't confuse the two times.
