The answer was "Angainor". Angainor was the chain forged by Aule to bind Melkor after his first defeat. He was sentenced to the Halls of Mandos until three ages had passed. Later, when he was again defeated, he was again bound with the chain Angainor. Thanks again - this answer got us the Ring of the Wind in our game (+40 Agent skill).
