Legends: game oddities From: rai@rb.icl.co.uk (Ross Inglis) Date: Fri, 23 Jul 1993 10:47:25 +0000 Some recent turns of mine have come back with some odd "features". Does anyone know if these are bugs or if it is really supposed to work this way: 1) In the last production turn one of my population segments lost 10% of its numbers due to starvation. This seemed a little excessive to me as I know there was sufficient food to feed at least half their number (after soldiers got fed). I was expecting to lose only 5% (ie. 10% of those who were not fed). Anyone have any idea what could be going wrong here. The segment concerned is the first one to produce in the province. 2) I recently had a battle in NIC where 4 characters (3 were mine) took on a castle. In the magic round we took out 4 of the defending slots so in the charge round 2 of my characters attacked slot 7. At this point, according to the report, the defending commander in slot 7 did damage to both of my characters. I didn't expect this, is it normal? I had assumed up to now that a character (or slot) could only damage 1 other opposing slot in any given combat round. Does the same thing happen in lairs? It will get quite grim of a monster in a lair is allowed to damage more than 1 of my attacking characters. 3) In the same battle described above 2 of my 3 characters increased both PC and Tactics. My main character (tactics 2 and PC 25) did not. Anyone have any idea what determines whether you are given an increase. I have not had sufficient battles to get a firm picture though my current suspicion is wounds (my main character took only 6% whereas my other 2 characters took 12% and 30%). 4) I friend recently took on a lair with a charmed monster which took 92% wounds and got a Mark of Destiny out of it. Someone previously posted and said they had seen this happen at 98% wounds. Does anyone else have any experience of taking over 90% wounds and either getting or not getting a mark out of it. It would be interesting to work out what the chances of getting one were.
