Then there is my trick that I used to win -- I played an apostle
and declared jihad against myself.  I decided
what turn I would like to win on (um, 28 I think) and loaded the number
of P-ships needed to destroy all my converts (don't forget to factor in
the % growth each turn.  If you drop PBBs the points you make far out-
weigh the points lost on the really high pop. worlds.  Look at the rules
and you can figure out the details yourself.  I just considered myself a
Jim Jones type religious cult (exceptin' he hadn't taken his flock to
heaven yet so I discussed the philosophical ramifications with my allies)
Jeeze it was fun -- I told a couple of allies that I would win on turn 28
and they just laughed.  When they finally took me seriously, they would
arrive at a world that was just getting the last of its converts blasted.
I got a lot of nasty phone calls saying I was cheating -- Damn! what a hoot.
