The only other thing that I can think of here are racial modifiers for being
mounted.  These are overall modifiers.  E.g. Drakken in ROI have a modifier
of 300 or 500% fro being mounted, can't recall which.  This would pull
down DF values.  What is the mounted bonus for elves?  That may be the
cause of what you see.
