Legends: obscure questions From: robbiew@inviso.com (Robbie Westmoreland) Date: Mon, 23 Aug 1993 15:48:25 +0000 A couple of questions: The "Train Soldier Skill" order, T16 in the U.S., doesn't mention anything about the level of the troops being trained. If a character were to retrain 5 level 5 troops as Knights, would: 1. the character have to have a level 10 PC to train them? 2. the cost of training be 65 per troop or 115 per troop? 3. the troops lose their 5 levels under any circumstances in which they also gained the Knight training? The description in the book seems to imply (1) yes, (2) no, (3) no. I attacked an Elven village in NIC4 with an unarmed scout. All of the troops opposing me were listed as having 20+ DF (correct for the level of fortifications and tactics advantage) except two slots of mounted troops. Those slots had DF of 5 and 6. I would assume that there is simply a penalty for mounted troops within fortifications, except that I've seen other such scout attacks which had no such effects on the DF of mounted troops. The place had a Moat of level 1. Anyone have a thought? Should I count on that low level of DF when I attack the place (thus making those two slots easy meat except that they cause heaps of damage in the Charge round). A friend has a lair in which the nasty carries a poison (II) weapon. What special effect (aside from the AF bonus) does poison have on troops? Does poison automatically give any characters damaged by it a Poisoned condition? Is the antidote the only way to cure poison? Anyone want to loan me 3200 crowns so I can buy the Power 1 Dwarven Plate from the marketplace near me? :) Thanks in advance, and anyone interested in exchanging information on NIC4 let me know. -- Robbie Westmoreland robbiew@inviso.com "And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know..."
