The familiar spells work by giving you extra spellvs from which to cast (besides the maximum possible to memorise at any one time) and extra points to cast these spells. One cavn cast at less than the spell rating, the spell rating is merely how many points the Familiar can give you, you may of course vadd to this from the spell casters own spell points. Thus if you have a read character spell at str 10, you may cast up to 10 vpoints per spell at no extra cost. If you wish to cast it at strength 20 then the extra points come off the spell casters own pvoints ) unless there are Status, Mark, Item , or character class reductions. And no your familiar will not teach anyone spellsv. BTW If your familiar can speak then You might want to put in a special action asking it what other benefits it gives you sivnce it often affects you in ways that are not obvious at first.
