A few Galaxy questions From: jmarks@cs.uct.ac.za (Jon Marks) Date: Wed, 15 Sep 1993 10:24:15 +0000 Good morning all. I'm new to the world of galaxy, and there are a few fine points that I can't figure out from the v3.4 documentation. I was wondering if any of you galaxy masters could help me out. Here they are: o It takes 8 population units to make a colonist. Do the colonist units turn back into 8 population when thawed out? o Is it possible to load a ship with something, send it to another planet which it can reach in one turn, and then unload it straight away? Is this possible without using routes? Or with routes? I tried it in my orders but the turn checker gave a problem message, saying the ship I wanted to unload is still in HyperSpace. o If you use a routes, will it fill up one ship entirely, then start on the next ship in the group, or will it divide the cargo. For example, if you wanted to transfer 20 units of cargo, and you have 2 ships in a group that can each carry 20 units, would it send one full ship, or two half full ones. o In the game I am playing, some players have populations of 1026.67, 1017.14 and 1021.05 after turn 2. Mathematically, I can't see how the last two figures are reached, unless the planets are both very small. Any suggestions? Can you load non-integral numbers of colonists onto a ship? Any comments would be useful. Thanks. Jon. -- Jonathan Marks jmarks@cs.uct.ac.za Referenced By Up
