Formulas
We're making a pbem game but we're not too pleased with our
formulas for combat. We have a quite simple combat system in our
fantasy pbem game and I wonder if there are people around here
who might want to help us on this subject.
Roughly said We have 4 types of combat
army-army army-settlement army-monster hero-hero
but they're all quite similar except for the last one
Each army consists of a number of soldiers. A army is always of one
similar race. There are some modifiers to the strenght of the attack
and defence force of the armies like Experience,magic bonus,
terrain type,racial bonus and special bonuses for strategic differences
Monsters can also be seen as an army and a settlement can be too I
guess. The combat system is quite simple for you just have to move
two enemies into the same territory and they can attack eachother
If you think you can give us some advice or help for such simple
combat formulas please let us know and we'll send you some more info

Players needed & The Game
We (that's Erik and  me  Vinnie) are busy making a wonderful
fantasy PBEM and we need some more players to enjoy and test our game.
Currently we're only interested in people that can read Dutch for
the manual and the game is still in Dutch at this point though
that will soon change so hang in there  all you english reading people:)

So what kind of game this is  ?

You're the hero and you live (along with all the other players) on
a big world. You start the game in your province where you own
aCity, a Fortress and a Temple. From then on you'll be building
small armies to discover the world around you and expand your empire
by building cities , fortresses and temples in the provinces next to
you but hey you're not the only one around so real soon you'll
be bumping in to your neighbours...wonder what will happen then.
That's very simply said what's the game about but there's a hell lot
more to it :) It futures loadsa different races (you get to choose
your own...Elves,dwarves,orcs,demons,trikreen,ogres,sprites,necromancers
and many more. There's even a chance to design a race yourselves and
if we and others like it we'll throw it in) monsters, loadsa Magic
(some 100 or more spells to which everyone has access) trading,
message system, deities (you're alone when you start the game but one
way to survive is to be or to get part of a group...people who
believe in the same deities tend to be more friendly to eachother than
those who believe in opposite) artifacts, spying

The game is controled by simple orders which you type in simple
ASCII files and send to us by EMAIL. The program will generate
a nice ascii file for you which shows your empire and the results
of your actions and includes messages from other players.

We'll probably do 1 turn a week
you can spend as much time on a turn as you want but you can play
quite well if you spend 1 hour on your turn. Ofcourse this may
get more later on in the game but that's up to you.
Every turn you only have a limited number of orders

Maybe we find someone soon who wants to make a translation
of the manual and textfiles so that the english people can
come playing too but I lack the time right now ;)
