SUGAR RAY results turn 7 From: gerstnet@Informatik.TU-Muenchen.DE (Thomas Gerstner) Date: Mon, 20 Sep 1993 16:48:36 +0000 Turn 7 Match reports What happened to Lamont Lovelady? This hopeful challenger of Champion Bomber Jack was last seen after his match last week. Not being as endurant, but more skilled as the champion, he might have had a chance, but he didn't show up at the championship match. A reason for this could be the press-campaign of Garham Times, Bomber Jack's fan-zine, against him: They spoke of the 'bloody body' of Lamont, and 'see you in hospital'. Now this sounds rather like Mafia methods than like boxing. Let's hope Lamont will return soon. Bomber Jack remains the champion, and once again Max Vorstadt is his challenger. He won his match with a clear point win, BUT Snafu had him on the edge of KO. Snafu's strategy of attacking at the start, and then letting Max run, nearly succeeded, but the end of the 5th round saved Max. I think this shows that there are more good boxers than just Max and Jack. Do you allow 'Dummy' as a boxername? Or are there reserved names? You cannot choose Dummy, another boxer's name or realname. And you were the one that knocked your opponent out (this wasn't _that_ hard, since it was Dummy). Reinhard Schoen (Max Vorstadt) (rschoen@mathematik.uni-ulm.de) writes: Dear Comrade Lamont, leaf se Bomber alone. Dont touch him. He is mine, mine alone, and I vill take ihn apart next time vee meet. No clefer trix anymore, Jack. I just finish den Snafu, und dann I am prepared. Bring your pilot's license. You vill need it. As we've seen, Lamont left the bomber alone and didn't touch him. Perhaps this wasn't what Max and his trainer expected, because Max is not as good prepared for his 3rd match vs. Bomber Jack as his opponent. Thomas Gerstner (Bomber Jack) (gerstnet@informatik.tu-muenchen.de) writes: Garham Times: We all are still impressed by the legendary championship fight between Bomber Jack and Max Vorstadt, which ended by a clear and earned win by KO for our all-time favourite boxer. The referee who was intentionally hit by Max is up and healthy again, which just counts for Max' weakness and amateurism. Max stated after the match that he was not in form due to his lack of training. Man, I can tell you: This is not the right state of mind for a champion. The ring is your training area, the challenger is your dummy. And so we have come to Lamont Lovelady, who had a lot of luck until now, but now has the bad luck to fight against the incredible Bomber Jack. Look at yourself, Lamont, do you really think you can beat the champion with this body of a bloody rookie (which will be soon a bloody body of a rookie)? See you in the hospital then. The trainer had a difficult task to motivate Jack this time: Trainer: C'mon, Jack, the crown wants to see you winning. Jack : Uuugh, what if I happen to hit him, will he be dead? Trainer: No, no, I'm sure he will survive. Jack : But I don't want him to be dead, you know. Trainer: How about tipping him only slightly? Jack : Yeah, that is good, I'll give him just a bit of a hit. Trainer: And he will still go KO! Jack : Harharharhar! As I stated above, keep boxing and don't use Mafia methods.
