LEGENDS: NIC items list invalid From: griffith@fx.com (Jim Griffith) Date: Tue, 28 Sep 1993 17:43:37 +0000 What I've heard from MG is that there has been a lot of effort made so that NIC items will have the same names between different NIC games, but they will have different effects. As such, there is little or no value in maintaining a "NIC items list" unless you *religiously* denote the specific game for which the information is valid. Luckily, Dean is doing that, but it's important that people who contribute to this list make sure to give Dean complete information, or else your information is generally worthless. Realistically, you should consider the "name" of a NIC item to be the "description" of the item. So, for instance, you have a "Griffon Shield", which is nothing more than a shield with a griffon emblem. What it does may or may not be related to the emblem, but don't count on it. This holds for most of the NIC items I've seen - broken guitar, twisted ladder, sweet strung mandolin, cheap hard liquor, wooden stake weapon, mithril gauntlets, etc. You won't get as many things like "Medal of Persuasion" or "Dragonslayer Boots" like you did in COA or RTI.
