Yep - it takes some time to get them going, just like MU's in AD&D, but
all those turns of PrenMgy are worth it in the end!

Tricky this! Since large amounts of gold can be stolen from >any<
population centre, from the smallest camp to the largest major town,
it's difficult to protect against theft. So you can place agents at all
the likely locations for theft and have them Guard the Location, or you
can run your economy so tightly that you don't have any excess gold to
steal...

I'm currently playing the Dwarves in one of the UK games, and having
only played for six turns I'm not exactly over qualified to give an
opinion :). However, I found it best to mobilise early on, and
run my large starting army from Khazad-dum out to face the Dragon Lord,
who should be out and about menacing the Woodmen. If you time it right
you can move the army out and into combat in a single turn - very
surprising for an opponent.

As with all PBM games, the best thing you can do is work out alliances
with those around you, and keep the information flowing. The Noldo,
Sinda, Woodmen and Eothraim are the ones I've found to be most helpful
for situation reports!

If you can swing the Rhudaur over to your side and start clobbering
the Witch King early on then this will relieve a lot of pressure. The
WK will start running armies over your northern territories if he's
got time on his hands...

You should also be able to move armies from Barak-Shathur(3607) and
Azanulinbar-dum(3707) to threaten and gain the Dragon Lord camp at
3506. Next, move these armies to Lag-Auris(3104) and really ruin
the DL's day. And if you survive this, move to the WK village at
2703.
