Good to see a response here.  Well next up is the SARN bible.  Interesting
reading for those of you aspiring to become a STAR CHILD.  It also makes
you want to invite all those SARN priests into the your church for TEA!

#599 The Fallen Star

The Blade and Cup of Sarn
...In the beginning there was Darkness, as it will be in the end...and forth of
the Darkness came Sarn who was the Cup of Voids and Sarn called for the Blade
of Time to bring order to Darkness, and he too was cut by that which has no
mind of its own, and into the void the blood of Sarn fell making all the
worlds and a scream of anger ripped through the endless night...soon to be
endless no more...for in the twinkling of an echo a small star shone from the
despair of Sarn and the star was the child of light which shattered the night
and brought to the universe change...and Sarn knew that his sacrifice was
never to be enough as long as the Child of Light would challenge the darkness.
...drawing a spiral in time, Sarn set forth his minion's to gather up the
strength of that which evolved so that the Darkness could be made whole once
again and the power of the light made to rest eternal...but at each turn of
the Ages the Star Child appeared again and though Sarn's claws did reach and
score the world the changes continued and the only wound of Sarn continued to
bleed...yet, it is written the an end shall come and Sarn shall bleed no
more...but until then the call of Sarn is for the power of the worlds to be
returned to him who is their blood and strength as it was in the beginning...

The structure of the faith of Sarn is around very powerful Priests who are
headed up by The High Priest (Title #2843).  The High Priest is chosen as a
Conclave of Blood held not more often than once a year in Mid Winter usually.
At the Conclave which is held via special action Priests of Sarn offer up as
sacrifices prisoners (alive or undead) who are other priests regardless of
what religion (including other priests of Sarn).  The Priest who sacrifices
the highest level Priest as measured in levels of religion is designated the
High Priest.  Bonuses for comparison purposes only are awarded for priests
sacrificed with titles:
    The Pope(+15 levels), Cardinal (+5 levels), Arch-bishop elect (+7 levels),
    First Sword (+5 levels), Mother Superior(+15 levels), The High Priest (+15
    levels), Voice of Garm (+5 levels), Druidic Inner Council (+3 levels), The
    Star Child (+200 levels)
The Duties and abilities of the High Priest are:
1. May design and add a new spell to the Religion once a year within the
   `spirit' of the religion.  The spell must not be a battle spell.
2. May remove a spell from the religion if the spell book reaches 30 spells.
   The spell to be removed must not be in the range 40-90 or 220-300.  The
   High Priest must inform via the message system all in the Faith of the
   proposed new spell and must keep all newcomers of the Faith informed.
3. May increase the Guild strength of any Temple of Sarn by the sacrifice of
   any other Priest.  The increase in level of the church is equal to half the
   value of the priest that is sacrificed.  The sacrifice is accomplished by
   Special Action and the victim must be alive or undead.  Sacrifices can only
   be done: Mid Spring, Mid Summer, Mid Autumn, Mid Winter.  Each sacrifice
   must be accompanied with a public message to all players to spread the
   terror of Sarn.
4. May place a `Doom of Sarn' on any main character (#1-200) in the game once
   a year.  This is done via public message to ally players denouncing the
   target and calling for all Priests of Sarn to seek his blood.  Any priest
   of Sarn that kills that designated character will receive an extra 3 levels
   of Priesthood.

NOTE: as self sacrifice is only the right of Sarn, no self sacrifice or
offerings of priests to sacrifice from within your own position.
