SUGAR RAY corrected results turn 10 From: fkschmid@cip.informatik.uni-erlangen.de (Frank Schmidt) Date: Tue, 12 Oct 1993 11:33:52 +0000 Turn 10 Match reports OK, THIS IS THE CORRECTION OF TURN 10. THREE ERRORS HAVE BEEN CORRECTED: Kenny Brett is now (15,26), Pickman is now scheduled, and the match Little Frank vs. Munch Howitzer was re-run. Little Frank sent in a move, but I put it in the wrong mailfolder. MY FAULT. THE FOLLOWING IS CORRECT (at least I hope so): Ten weeks of boxing are over. Time for a short summary: 37 boxers have joined Sugar Ray International 25 of them are active (i.e. they have a match next week) 3 are on the pausing list 6 are 'in the training camp' 3 have left again 25 players are enough to continue the game for some weeks more (or months? years? :-) ). But what happened to the 9 others who aren't active and haven't left? Do they have a bad mail link? Do they forget their move? Or something else? Please tell me. Some clarification: In german (original Sugar Ray) such things as the 'list of pausing boxers' or the 'training camp' don't exist; every boxer is assumed to be active every turn. Turns are executed every two weeks there. Inactive boxers get 0/0 in every round and are usually knocked out. I created the 'list of pausing boxers' to avoid a good boxer loses too much of his stats because of being knocked out every week being away, and quits. But this was not enough. The stats for newcomers rise every week, and those of active boxers usually a bit faster (a lost match + training is about zero, and a won match + training is double to triple as large as the growth of the newcomer values). So some boxers on the pausing list find themself being worse than newcomers. So I now decided to create the 'training camp': everyone in the pausing list who has neither better skill nor better endurance than a newcomer is put there: He can restart as a newcomer in league V, and his name is still reserved for him. So now my question to you is: do you have ideas to improve Sugar Ray? (Please think about the fact that I'm not the one who has the last word about REAL rule-changes when you make your suggestions) Championship Bomber Jack (18,30): 7/3 (25) 7/3 (20) 5/5 (18) 5/5 (16) 7/3 (11) PW Robert Sprunk (15,39): 4/6 (34) 4/6 (29) 4/6 (26) 4/6 (23) 4/6 (18) League I Max Vorstadt (19,26): 6/5 (23) 6/5 (18) 6/5 (15) 6/5 (10) 6/5 ( 5) PW Lamont Lovelady (19,20): 1/8 (20) 6/5 (15) 1/8 (15) 6/5 (10) 6/5 ( 5) Dummy (17,27): 5/6 (23) 5/5 (18) 6/4 (13) 5/5 ( 8) 5/4 ( 6) PW Azrael Xavier (17,27): 3/7 (25) 6/4 (20) 5/6 (16) 6/4 (11) 3/7 ( 9) League II Saint G (17,28): 4/7 (25) 6/5 (20) 5/7 (14) Billy Mach (19,24): 0/0 (16) 0/0 ( 4) 0/0 (-6) KO League III Obelix (15,30): 5/5 (26) 5/5 (22) 5/5 (18) 5/5 ( 8) 5/5 ( 4) PW Pickman (16,26): 5/3 (20) 0/8 (20) 5/3 (14) 8/0 ( 1) 0/8 ( 1) David Hesserman (16,23): 3/6 (21) 3/6 (19) 10/0 (11) Frederic J.
