Correct, Xeres is a Priest of Masinome, and one of his items gives him the
Wizard's List and Summoner's List at strength 50.  As it turns out, the
Masinome religion is closely tied to conventional arcana, and many Masinome
items give or improve arcane ability.  Items like "Arcane Armor" and
"Arcanist's Staff" have really nice arcane bonuses for Masinome worshippers,
and the Masinome religious tree eventually reaches "Arcane Lord".  That's
why Xeres is a bigwig in the Arcane Coalition and the owner of Narviel.
