I seem to be missing a lot of posts I could be replying to. Well, let's give this a try too... > Does anyone out there know of a PBEM game for which the source code is >available? The PBEM list, which I just saw in this newsgroup, lists several games whose source code and rules are available by ftp. Checking sites like ftp.erg.sri.com and ftp.cp.tn.tudelft.nl and cs.utk.edu will reveal more code, including most of the publicly available code (use the closest site to you, of course, when possible) for Galaxy games, and the PBEM list will tell you about others, including ( I believe ) Judgment Day by Russell Wallace, and others. > I'd prefer games which can be run automatically, by a mail-checking >daemon or some such, but email me with any ideas you have. Any help will I run 14 Galaxy games with only one of them requiring any intervention other than my typing in my own orders where applicable. A useable mail handler like Procmail ( or even Elm's filter ) makes this much easier, since running the checker on demand instead of constantly makes it more functional and less of a load on your system. Email me for ideas on this, but be patient. I may not get back to you for a few days. >who is giving me information about a program but doesn't want that >information spread to others, say so in your message. This is all public knowledge... and I'll help almost anyone by personal email who asks politely and waits patiently.
