I've had experience with four gods:  Palindur, Masao Keung,
Fineous, and Enikki.

Barrymore initially devoted to Palindur.  This worked well until he
started using CM-Blast.  The offensive magic lowered his honor rating,
and Palindur dropped him.  Along with this Barrymore lost all his
magic points (he had deity magic...).  Palindur definately helped with
mind wall abilities, and Barrymore may have had a better chance to
learn weapon skills, too.

Barrymore now is devoted to Masao.  This has worked well.  Meditation
in the guild for two turns has really increased his devotion, and this
in turn has improved magic points and resurrection fund.  Fighting
without armor last turn, I didn't note any significant improvements or
bonuses.  Extra kp each turn (about two or three... plus about three
for each meditation...).  Barryomre had been good, but is now neutral.
He donated to his deity, but the turn report said this money went to
the neutral temple... this does fit the deity description, I guess...

Gnoglette is devoted to Enikki, but has never been anything other than
indifferent.  Seems to help with tripping, kicking, etc.  Gnoglette
doesn't use combat magic, so I don't know what penalties are involved.

Fineous gives one destiny point per turn.  I haven't seen any big
advantage with him...

It is difficult to use CM and remain good.  If you wish to do this,
focus on CM-Blink and Heal, use CM-Blast sparingly in the guild, and
avoid Vertigo and Daze in guild.  Feel free to use all while
adventuring.  Also, set value to "allow opponent to rise," this should
counteract some of the magical nastiness...
