PBM paper questions From: thomson@netcom.com (Deb and Bob Thomson) Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1993 16:32:37 +0000 This is a question for those who play by snail-mail as well as email: We're programming a PBM game with a fantasy war-game theme. The printout is basically linear, showing a list of provinces, forces, characters, etc. that this player can see, followed by several summary sections, battle reports, etc. Our questions have to do with the physical presentation of the turns: How do you prefer your turn be printed? Do you prefer individual sheets of laser-printed paper, or a continuous fan-fold dot-matrix printout? Are you willing to accept a slight reduction in paper quality if the paper is recycled? The amount of information in the various sections of the printout varies depending on the size of your position, how many spies you have, etc, so the page breaks on a laser printer would still be arbitrary. Does anyone else like the flexibility of fanfold paper? Is the improved quality of a laser printout worth the extra expense? Please let us know what you think, either on this group or by email. BTW, we hope to be soliciting play-testers for You Rule! early next year. -- Bob and/or Debbie Thomson Llucky Llama The opinions above do not necessarily reflect the opinions of my spouse.
