About the guardians...

I am a member of the Church (Ilidar #825) We have twice encoutered
Minor Guardians in the Swamp.  They are at a particular site (an octagon
shaped clearing with a man-sized obilisk in the center).  They are very
rude.  Their "natural" armor (funny for a human to have eh?) is very thick
and they are very hard to beat (we haven't yet).  The 2nd time we
encountered them we fought well into desperation and then we hit some very
bad luck...  Some of their attacks are strangling ones which can be very
very rough (repeated heavy damage).  We think that the site has something to
do with the Lich Lord or somesuch thing (because of the octagon shape), but
we aren't sure.  We also believe that the number of Guardians may be chosen
to match your party on their best day making them very very hard to beat.  It
is also possible that they want some item to let you pass (this comes from
their little speech at the beginning... something about you have 2 seconds
to leave).  Any extra info about these beasties would be nice.  Now that we
can regularly beat off Saurian Champions and their friends we will be
adventuring out there quite frequently unless we go to Barstow to try the
Black Ship.
