We're still busy programming and extending our Fantasy Startegic PBEM named GONDOR. We're busy with playtesting the game in Holland with use of Email. Soon we hope to have the time to translate the manual into English so we can start playing with the rest of the world. (Yep the manual is RATHER Big, it comes in two parts, one with basic orders and one with Advanced. Totaling some 140 K !!) If there are people around who would like to do some translating from Dutch -> English we'd really like that and will offer ya some Free play ;) The problem right now is that we would like to have players from all over the world but we're spending loadsa time & money (We have a eeny teeny company from which we can use the Email & Modem but we have to pay for that ;( So we want to ask our players a little charge. Mainly to cover expenses of Modem stuff Right now we're offering a whole game of Turns for as little as $8 for $10. (then you can play the whole game which will be at least a full 10+ Turns (short lived players will be offered a new game) if you're a reasonable player you'll probably live much longer..The game will probably end at a turn of 30-35) But the problem is that if you want to book the money to Holland you have to pay a huge fee. All bank transactions with foreign countries are expensive they ask as much as $7.50 for one transaction and I'm even afraid they're doing that on both sides.. So you would spend much more money on the Bank than on the Game well so we're seeking for a way out... Does anybody have a idea for a solution ? The only solution we can think about is to have people gather and send money for a bunch of players We also decided to let players pay for the whole game instead of for Turns because that would be too much administration problems.. I also heard credit cards might be some solution Anybody has an idea ? I'll let ya know more about our fabulous game soon and we'll have the Manual available at FTP sites..
