Want advice on AD&D PBEM From: allye@dragon-dream.org (Allye) Date: Tue, 11 Jan 1994 16:25:00 +0000 CKP:)Hi. I am thinking of starting an AD&D PBEM, and I was wondering whether an :)who had done such a thing in the past (as DM or player) had any advice for Yes... although I have personally never run a PBeM, I am the administrator to a net called Shades 'n Shadows which has several PBeMs within them... We even have a Rolemaster game running, if you can believe that! CKP:)Really, any advice at all would be much appreciated. Basically, make sure you spell out the rules to your game... (1) don't let the players do the dice rolls, have them focus more on the roleplaying aspects within the game (2) make sure your mages have a bonified spell list (3) after each battle scene post a notice letting the players know where they stand in regards to damage and spell points... (4) don't wait too long between moves, players get frustrated when only one move happens a week... (5) make it seem more like a talking story book, the flow is easier to read! I chose not to mail this directly because I am sure there are others who might benefit from a discussion like this... --- QMPro 1.0 41-6131 Maybe both that reality and fantasy can coexist?
