Perhaps it's just individual differences/preferences? I think you'll
remember well Teetotaler with his double scimitars, Stormbringer with his
shortsword/large shield (actually, all of his lungers ran with primary
weap/large shield...).

At all the face-to-faces I went to, John pretty much let Donny II run on
auto-pilot.  With Donny's 280+ attack percentage I don't think an offhand
weapon would make much of a difference.
