DM: Kill-Less Dueling From: gtriplet@afit.af.mil Date: Tue, 01 Feb 1994 10:56:58 +0000 I've heard many theories on how to kill fighters in DM. What style vs. what style, what KD to run, what weapons to use, what area to attack, etc. It's not that hard, really. One of the greatest feats of skill a manager can show his arena is to run a kill-less team record. I have little sympathy for these 50+ kill teams. Big deal. Try running a team of offensives kill-less over a reasonable period of time. THAT takes skill. I don't profess to have this down entirely, as random death still happens because of BAD mis-matches in experience (especially those irritating novice fighters challenging WAY over their heads) and computer chow-blowing sessions, but I have determined a few things. 1: Don't attack the head, chest, or abdomen. 2: Leave your KD at reasonable levels (3,5,6,7 - nothing else is really worth running, anyway) 3: Challenge fighters with equivalent (or more) fight experience than your own fighter. 4: Lay off the large weapons. Obviously, to score the kill reverse the above. Anyone out there have any luck with kill-less teams over extended periods of time? I haven't always been of this mind-set, and several of my teams reflect 'dark' times, but I have cut my kill rates to a crawl in arenas where I desire to. My greatest success, right now, is Sightless in Jurine. Although a young team and running only one fighter right now (a lunger), it is 31-31-0 as a team. PHOENIX Referenced By Up
