You Rule! is a fantasy game of conquest with a sense of humor. There are six different races, each of whom rules over (fights very well against) one of the others. There are ten different character types, including wizards to cast spells, spies to seek out information and generals to lead forces to battle. You Rule! is a strategy game, not a role-playing game. We need playtesters who will take the job seriously. You Rule! will be commercially released later this year. There is no charge for the playtest, but there are certain requirements: * Playtesters must make a committment to play the entire game. Play will continue for up to three or four months. * Playtesters must be able to submit and receive turns by electronic mail. * Playtesters must be able to play at a normal pace of two turns per week, although every fourth turn or so will have extended due dates. * Playtesters must study and _criticize_ all game materials. We want to make You Rule! into the best possible PBM game, and we need your help. * Playtesters must fill out our questionnaires and be willing to tell us what they _really_ think about the game. * At this time, playtesters must reside in the U.S. We will be mailing the rules package and turns to each playtester at our own expense, and cannot afford international mail. * Playtesters must be able to begin play in the latter part of February, 1994. You Rule! is not primarily intended to be an electronic mail game. The turns are laser-printed, and each player receives a laser- printed map showing his current position with every turn. For the playtest we need to maintain a faster pace than is possible for a snail-mail game. Every fourth turn or so we will have a longer deadline, so players can evaluate the printed presentation of the game.
