*** The Player *** From: pearsoni@arco2.afrc.ac.uk (Ian Pearson) Date: Sun, 06 Feb 1994 10:54:34 +0000 ************************** 'THE PLAYER' ****************************** 'The Player' is a new semi-pro games magazine. It is semi-pro because it aims to bring quality game related articles/reviews/comment etc to print without the need for glossy pages, a colour cover or excessive advertising. It covers all aspects of playing games, from RPG, wargaming, PBM, through boardgames and beyond. Issue one was very well received and now has a national distributor in the UK. I am looking for reviews of both commercial and non-commercial PBM's and EPBM's and this would seem to be the best place to ask. When I posted a similar message for Issue one I was very pleasantly surprised with the response and encouragement received. There are too many people to thank directly, but they know who they are. E-MAIL CONTRIBUTIONS: (pearsoni@uk.ac.afrc.arcb) I prefer pure ascii, but can receive and translate many formats, including graphics. Send me a note so we can talk about it. PLEASE PREFACE YOUR MESSAGES WITH - 'THE PLAYER' - OR THEY WILL PROBABLY BE DELETED ! POSTAL: 3.5" DD or HD floppy disks in pure ascii preferred (PC, Mac, or Amiga formats), or typed. Handwritten by prior arrangement only. (YOU try translating several pages of close script). English please, but I can have a go at translating French. Contact me at the above e-mail address for where to send your ideas. Thanks Ian Pearson (pearsoni@uk.ac.afrc.arcb) Up
