New: Tears of Nexus (free, open-ended, email, human, space, rpg) From: donotreply@pbm.com (PBM List Autoposter) Date: Fri, 26 May 2006 07:13:02 +0000 Name: Tears of Nexus Costs: Free Email: sharlene79 zat mindspring.com Frequency: Daily or every 2 days Type: Science Fantasy, Space Opera, Exploration Last-Update: 2006May22 Keywords: free, open-ended, email, human, space, rpg Description: Tears of Nexus is a multi-genre game based on GURPS 3rd edition rules. We wont be working up character sheets. However, character development will be essential to start. All characters must be approved PRIOR to admission to the website. All requests to join the website will be rejected until characters are cleared. Players may be TERRANS (that means HUMAN) from any era or genre up to tech level 12. I do recommend Modern (TL 7 or later). All player characters should be heroic. That means NO ANTIHEROES OR VIGILANTES. I do not mind a criminal past, but make it clear your character is reformed and stick to that. If you have to ask what that means, dont apply. I am looking for experienced players. Players will be expected to remain active or be removed from the website, their characters to become victims of the hazards of the game world. If you are going to play, please be ready to commit yourself to posting regularly. Note the posting frequency of the game before you apply. I am looking for players who can post daily if possible, every other day at the very least. NO LURKERS. TO APPLY: Send an email with a sample of writing, character description, complete with background, origins, personality, etc. Be thorough. Bear in mind that gear will be limited aboard a ship. In most cultures people dont walk around with sidearm during a trip in higher tech levels. You will get a Spam block message the first time you send me an email. Sorry, but I deal with a lot of spam. The game begins with the characters stranded aboard ships (of whatever era they are from). Their ship will include others from their era. So introducing one single player character will introduce a whole group of characters. The game setting is a sort of Sargasso Dysonian Sphere of unbelievable proportions. It contains literally thousands of oddly shaped worlds. (They are bead shaped rather than spheres.) Magic and science will work here. So will metahuman abilities. However, do not be surprised if your abilities fail. Cyborgs, do not be surprised to find yourselves completely altered as in human once more. That means dont bother listing a bunch of implants. Feel free, but dont be surprised to find many things gone. Physics will be altered to a degree. You will soon discover that there is air in space, for example. Flying creatures can migrate from planet to planet. There are over 10,000 planetoids several times the size of Earth. So exploring everything will prove impossible in your lifetimes. Weapons will be devoid of energy and ammunition upon arrival. Swords will work just fine, assuming they dont require energy. Ships will be in brand new condition, no matter their condition prior to arrival. Injuries will have been regenerated without scars. Players added later will have slightly altered beginnings. I may also allow later players to play some of the Natives. [ This is a new entry for the PBM List.
