DM: 2 Interesting Characters From: ez007195@dale.ucdavis.edu (Yeon Choi) Date: Fri, 11 Feb 1994 22:14:59 +0000 I recently sent in my first DM turns in a long time, and even though I haven't received anything yet (I hope they don't just take my $10.75 and apply towards my slight negative account balance), I'm feeling that rush of anticipation. The following are two characters I'm looking forward to running. I look forward to getting some responses from the net on how viable they (considering your own managing style) and how you'd run them. Their names have been changed to protect my heiny. Stupid Basher of Stupid Bashers Stable 17-6-12-7-16-9-17 Basher/Right Handed/Not very bright - unconcerned with controlling fight/ very frail/does great damage I actually like this guy as a short-termer, even though I am a little concerned about the init comment under wit. ST/WL/DF bashers have always done well for me, although of course usually I have much more WT and less SP and CN (turn this guy into, say, 17-3-12-13-17-5-17 BA and you've got a pretty reasonable basher on your hands). He's not slow or inactive, which is good, and his carry is normal meaning that he won't be penalized too much for wearing APA/F on his "if challenged" strategy (grin). I'll probably run this guy 10-6-8-HE-HE Decis in ALE/H with a WH versus light armor, MS vs. Medium, and HL vs. Heavy (needless to say, there will be very liberal limits sets on the light armor). Of course, he's only in there for the kills, but if he turns out okay (as good, say, as my last Dixie Lunger - 11-5-15-5-21(+1)-11-17) then I'll a model for my longer term warriors. Big Ugly Striker of Big Ugly Strikers Stable 16-9-19-13-9-10-11 Striker/Bright/Quick and Active/Poor endurance/cannot take a lot/ tremendous damage I hate characters who get no comments under WT. It indicates to me that he has no luck whatsoever and should probably be takien out and shot, except that I've always done very well with Great and Tremendous damage strikers and slashers so I'll let him live. I'm running him full boar: 10-10-6-HE-HE-Decis (did I ever say I was a finesse manager?) in ALE/H or maybe even N/F. Weapons will be of the lighter variety: DA/DA vs. light, SC vs. medium, and LO (or maybe ML) vs. heavy. I'm not expecting great things from these guys, but I think I can run the basher to 4-1-2 or 6-2-3 before the DA. The striker? Well, if I can run him to 12-2-0 like I did Silk Boxers in Dullens, I'll be ecstatic. If can run him to 30-30-3 and an induction in to Home Guard I'll be very happy.
