Welcome to the game!!  I first encountered the game at Gen Con, as well ('92,
the combined Gen Con/Origins 25th aniv. con)  The arena started from that,
Tarrgir, is now on its 36th turn, and I have one of the more respected teams in
the arena (Crimson Pegasi.)  Much of the fun of the game comes from discovering
what works for you.  I won't attempt to tell you what MUST be done with those
roll-ups, as you are looking for enjoyment in an entirely different area of the
game than I am, after two years of play.

Here's some starting advice, then:

#1>  10-10-8-13-15-13-15, slasher or lunger.  Raise con and str once each then
go for skills.
#2>  Uh, huh huh.  Sorry.  (I'm sure someone will tell you it's a good scum TP.
JUST SAY NO!!!)
#3>  10-16-8-15-11-11-13, parry-strike.  Raise con and str once each and run
low, parry-based strategies at first.
#4>  13-11-5-15-15-10-15, almost anything.  Could be your best fighter in the
team.  Train skills.
#5>  9-8-10-17-15-12-13, lunger, slasher, striker.  If you don't get good
damage raise str once or twice.  Raise con once, then go skills.

Good luck to you!  Good arenas to enter for role-play are 18,51,53,60,66,76,78.
The higher the arena number, the younger the arena.  (18 is on turn 214, arena
78 is on turn 6.)  Younger arenas have less experienced managers (and an easier
time for you), but experienced managers will oftentimes offer advice while
smearing your fighters about the sands.  A couple smaller arenas (that could
really use fresh faces) are 48 and 61, but competition is more limited in
arenas of this size.
