META: Open-Ended Adventure PBEM Questions From: morrow@gandalf.rutgers.edu (John Morrow) Date: Sun, 20 Feb 1994 21:09:30 +0000 I have a few questions for those who have played (or are playing) any of the open-ended adventure PBEM games over the Internet (e.g. Olympia [1 or 2], Atlantis [1.0, 1.1, etc], T'Nyc). Send replies via e-mail or post them if you think it might be informative for everyone. I would appreciate replies as long and complete as you have time for. You can even send multiple responses. I have no objections to reading through pages of ramblings and there are no right or wrong answers. The more you send, the more information I get out of it. I will probably make the replies available to anyone who wants them. The questions are: 1) What sorts of things do you want to be able to do in open-ended adventure (OEA) PBEMs? 2) What sorts of things do you think shouldn't be possible in OEA PBEMs? 3) What features of past or existing OEA PBEMs did you particularly like? 4) What features of past or existing OEA PBEMs did you particularly dislike? 5) What level of activity and/or detail to you want in an OEA PBEM? 6) What kind of information do you want to get on your turn reports and how would you like it organized in an OEA PBEM? 7) Why do you enjoy/dislike playing OEA PBEMs? Thanks ahead of time for your time, John Morrow morrow@gandalf.rutgers.edu Up
