First off I La> have played frps before but not any pbm games. How are these games La> organized and how do they work. Also how does one go about getting La> involved in them. Second, do you play these on the internet or by La> surface mail. If by internet could someone tell me how to set up a La> game. I'm interested in setting up a StarWars pbm game. If anyone has La> any suggestions could they please eMail me them at the address below. La> Your help with information and advice is appreciated. Thank you in La> advance: -- PBM's are by surface mail, while PBEM's are by electronic mail. Otherwise, they are essentially identical. I'm assuming that you are talking about non-commercial forms of PBMs. To get involved in one, just look regularly for postings on the starting of a new game, and leap on the opportunity. You may find them here, or for frp's you may find announcements in the frp conferences. As far as setting one up, just post a notice stating particulars: game; number of players; frequency of turns (once a day, once a week, once a month, etc.); and what the players have to do to get into the game. You can give particulars on character generation once the group is together, and that can be done through direct email. Once you have the right number of people, you might want to post a message letting people know that the game has been filled (unless you're wanting a waiting list as well, in which case, leave it open till that fills). This keeps your mailbox uncluttered (you may get a LOT of responses), and saves other people the time that they might have spent getting a message to you. I've never done it myself, but I've seen it happen a number of times. I think there's even a FAQ regarding it somewhere. ... You pitifully poked your crude spear into its cute head. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 ---- Muddy Waters Computer Society Inc.
