Legends Barosan Bible From: drhj@v1.astro.cf.ac.uk (Dean Johnson) Date: Wed, 30 Mar 1994 15:44:46 +0000 Not too impressed with this, glad I'm not Barosan! Dean From NIC 3, USA: Item # 592 The Symbol of Barosa {Book} 0.10 wt The Way of Barosa... There was at the beginning nothing till the consciousness of Barosa was spawned and time begun, Barosa was not one of loneliness, but varied Himself for his own contentment. Expanding and contracting, He created compressions in Time itself, with all the stars and worlds but a simple reflection of His effort. Our world is but a backwater where two of his forces have collided and that collision created all about us in a twinkling of a star. The life grew strong and 'nature' became the word for creation when it was Barosa's twisting of Time. Through the chaos of the folds in his effort came all manner of creatures all of which are but divine variations in thought. ...but after waking of thought and the turning of that upon itself rather than to Barosa he sent a great ripple that shook the world and in its shadows arrived those that walk upon it now and call themselves 'Free'. ...we all are but free upon the world, owing loyalty to only those that earn it in the little time that is left. Life is too short to waste on supplications to false gods or worship of distant heavens. Live for life, today and tonight for tomorrow is another's time. For this... we stand opposed to those great secular churches and especially the Nature's Pawns who see holiness in trees and rocks for these are but the castaways of time and the background of the true divine reflections if we can but reach the contentment within ourselves. Great Empires and powerful armies are but simple toys of those who know not themselves, for none of these shall last and all will fade with time. Only the spirit of the inner self can be made immortal by union with the fabric of Barosa's will and triumph eternal. Seek to gather to yourself the skills of enlightenment, nothing else will give contentment. ---- The collection of temples and priests are very individualistic and a strict structure of authority does not exist. Nevertheless, certain things are occassionally delegated to various members on an almost random basis, the belief being that in time all will prove to be worthy. Most common place is the call for 'scripture' in which at times, not more than once a year a call will go out for a 'scripture' being a two line statement on a particular religious subject. These suggested scriptures are then listed to all holders of the faith to reflect a diverse view of the subject. From this selection one single entry is chosen, usually at random and this entry maker is then given the assigned task for the Faith. Some of the new tasks that may come up are: 1. Choosing a new spell to be added to the faith from this list: 1,3,11,21,23,24,30,32,42,50,53,58,63,84,105,107,134,151,146,150, 154,181,205,206,207,216,225,247,255,288,289. 2. Removal of old spells should there be no more room (30 spells max) 3. Removal of annoyances to the faith 4. Building of special magical places At the time of the call for 'scriptures' the faith in Barosa may provide special capacity to those to accomplish their tasks which may or may not be assigned at the time of the call.
