AEs Society: The Celebre'en From: taylors@westminster.ac.uk (Simon Taylor) Date: Mon, 28 Mar 1994 17:18:01 +0000 AEs: The Fantasy Roleplaying Society presents: The Celebre'en ************** To be held in the Cellar Bar of The Westmoreland Arms on Saturday 30th April 1994 THE CROW'S NEST *************** The second event of the AEs Society takes place in the brick cellars of a flagstone-floored inn, throwing you into the dark and mysterious world of the fantasy tavern. Experience what it is like to spend the day in one of the most traversed environments for medieval characters. For the day, this cellar bar will become the setting of Old Kaltharg's tavern, The Crow's Nest. Minstrels will entertain, deals will be struck and a hundred adventures will begin. There will also be a full programme of events to watch and participate in. THE AEs SOCIETY *************** The Society was set up to recreate life in the fantasy worlds that we have so long only imagined in our tabletop gaming sessions. By transforming various locales, we create the setting for something that we call Living Theatre. This allows you to bring your favourite character into the World of AEs and experience just what it is like to walk the dust-filled halls of The Adventurer's Guild or the dungeons beneath its ancient cities. The Society also promotes roleplaying and the art of Storycrafting; the creation of interactive stories in a linked fantasy milieu. Sharing the same gameworld, each of these tales allow you to write on-going adventures and create your own additions, from people to entire tribes or legends of ages past. If you want to know more about these aspects, why not attend The Celebre'en. Or alternatively, write to AEs: The Fantasy Roleplaying Society, Talliston, 51 Newton Green, Great Dunmow, Essex CM6 1DU. WHAT YOU WILL NEED ****************** For this event, these are the essential things you will need to bring with you: Costume: There are really no rules and regulations about which fantasy costume you decide to wear, just as long as you have clothing that would not look out of place in any quasi-medieval setting then no-one is going to mind too much. That said, the organisers will frown upon obvious modern-day clothing such as trainers, jackets and t-shirts. A simple costume is not difficult to make. If you wish to know how, please state as much on your booking form. Feast gear: A wooden or plain ceramic plate or bowl, a mug or goblet and a knife and spoon are the essentials for this particular event, but please feel free to bring whatever you deem appropriate to your character. TRAVELLING TO THE EVENT *********************** By Car: This is not advisable. By Train: Address: The Westmoreland Arms, 34 George Street, London W1H 5RE. EVENT RULES *********** The organisers have tried to keep everything as free-format as possible, yet there are always a few house rules that must be applied: 1 All bookings must be submitted before Wednesday 20th April. No bookings will be accepted after this date. 2 Due to catering and space restrictions, places are issued to the first fifty people only. This is on a first- come, first-served system. 3 Strictly no admittance on the day. 4 All attendees must be over eighteen due to licensing laws on site. 5 No outside food or drink can be consumed on site. Cost includes lunch and main meal and attendance to all events during the day. Drinks can be bought during the course of the whole event. 6 Event opens at 12:00 noon and continues until 10:30pm. HOW TO BOOK *********** Fill in the form below, either for yourself or for your group, and send it to: Talliston, 51 Newton Green, Great Dunmow, Essex CM6 1DU.
