GALAXY: registration for new games available From: rnovak@nyx10.cs.du.edu (Robert Novak) Date: Thu, 07 Apr 1994 05:35:18 +0000 Greetings to all Galaxy players and fans. I'm ready to accept registrations for new Galaxy and Galactica games. If you're interested in signing up, read on. Games are likely to begin about 1-4 weeks from now. Galaxy is a play-by-email game of galactic conquest by Russell Wallace and the Galaxy PBeM Development Group. A brief players' FAQ on Galaxy, as well as the full documentation, is available from my server; see below. Galactica is a variation of Galaxy written by Gary Pizl based on Galaxy. It includes new concepts like carriers and driveless fighters, limited ship range (based on ship design), and new planet distribution schemes. The documentation is available from my server; see below. You register for my games by sending email to the galaxy information server. Your *SUBJECT* is interpreted and your message processed and replied to automagically. For this reason, you need to be careful with your subjects! The galaxy information server address is galaxy@acca.nmsu.edu To request documentation (rules): - for regular galaxy, use Subject: sendme galaxy docs - for Galactica, use Subject: sendme galactica docs - for other command help, use Subject: HELP To register for games: - for regular galaxy, use Subject: register galaxy or Subject: register galaxy # - for Galactica, use Subject: register galactica The # is your preferred number of turns per week, if you have any preference. 2 and 3 are common frequencies, although I have run 5x/week games before. You'll get a generic confirmation once your request is received. I will send you another message when I prepare to set up the games (within a month, I expect) to let you know more about the setup and size of the games you have positions in. If you have questions, contact me at rnovak@nyx.cs.du.edu and I'll get back to you. Robert Novak rnovak@nyx.cs.du.edu Galaxy GM -- Robert Novak (rnovak@nyx.cs.du.edu) .
