EWWA Rules part 2 From: themagpie@aol.com (The Magpie) Date: Thu, 02 Jun 1994 04:26:04 +0000 IV How do I know who wins? I tell you ;). V OK wiseguy, how do YOU know who wins?? First, each move has a point score (from 0 to 10 for singles moves and from 0 to 6 for tag moves). Actually, it has two: one changes only 4 times a year (and then by no more than 3 points per singles move or 2 per tag move); the other is generated anew each week. To decide a wrestler's score, I add the values of her moves to get a total from 0 to 180, and then add a 2d6 roll (which is rerolled each week). For tag teams, add the two members' individual scores for that week and the values of their tag moves (if they have four, drop the lowest). Also add a d8 to the score of each tag-only team; but if one of its members winds up in a singles match (e.g. on a supercard), there is a d8 penalty to his score. Then apply any cheating effects; higher score wins. VI What's this "2d6" business? It means to roll two 6-sided dice, etc. VII What can I win? Well, no money ("Can you tell this is no money?"--Rosie O'Donnell). Instead, there are championships at stake. The most prestigious is the Universal Championship, signified by a virtual diamond tiara (no mere belts for us!) Lesser titles are the Internet (emerald), Ethernet (sapphire), and Altnet (ruby) championships, which will not be created until we have a certain number of wrestlers. The tag-team universe works similarly. VIII Who gets a title shot each week? There are several rules on that point. First, if a champion was just dethroned, she gets a rematch (unless she is getting a shot at a higher crown). However, when the title changes hands in a rematch, the one-week champ does not get a re-rematch. Second, if a lesser champion makes four successful defenses of her crown BY VICTORY (retaining on a draw does not count, while a retention by DQ or countout loss counts as -1, and may result in strippage if done to excess), she gets a shot at the next-higher title. If she wins, her former crown is vacated and it's tournament time! (If a rematch and promotion match are earned in the same week, the rematch rule takes precedence; but the lower titlist will get her shot the following week, even if she loses the tiara in the meantime.) Finally, if neither of these rules applies, the highest-ranked eligible contender gets the shot. To be eligible, a wrestler must not: (1) be a champion, or be receiving a match for a higher title; (2) have had title shots in both of the last two weeks; or (3) have had a shot for that particular title the previous week. Also note that a selected challenger may refuse; the next one in line will then challenge. Up
