Middle-Earth PBM Riddle From: grosspie@cae.wisc.edu (Carl William Ii Grosspietsch) Date: Fri, 15 Jul 1994 06:02:47 +0000 Hail Lords and Ladies of Middle Earth PBM: Ran into a riddle awhile ago that I never was able to answer correctly. I was curious if any of you had either encountered this riddle and answered it, or can possibly solve it for me. On the east of the easternmost Middle near the wood at the foot of the Red awakening those far in the past lost to all it is now said. I incorrectly assumed the first time that it referred to Moria since it speaks of 'the Red' (i.e. Redhorn Mountain), 'awakening' (meaning the Dwarf-lord Durin who awoke at Moria), and 'lost' (i.e. balrog taking Moria). After doing some additional studying though, I believe it refers to Cuivienen, the location where the Elves first awoke in Arda. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Lastly, I'm compiling as much info as I can on ME-PBM (i.e. nation advantages, pop centers for each nation, starting characters, riddles, % chance of success in various orders based on skill level, etc.) and was wondering if any of you experienced (or inexperienced) players would be interested in contributing (I'll e-mail any and all contributors a complete copy of the "compendium" when I finish it). Mail me with questions or suggestions if you're interested...Thanks! Good gaming, Carl G. Witch-King, Game #3 (long time ago!) Dog-Lord, Game #74 and...still waiting for setup... ****************************** Internet: grosspie@cs.wisc.edu GEnie: c.grosspiet2 Up
