Addition to the PBM List -- new VGA-planets-like game From: gl8f@fermi.clas.Virginia.EDU (Greg Lindahl) Date: Wed, 20 Jul 1994 08:47:25 +0000 Two updates, one about sports and one about a wargame: 1. The Formula 1 Pick 6 guessing game rules are (soon) available as: ftp.cp.tn.tudelft.nl:/pub/pbm/misc/formula_1_pick_6_rules.gz BTW, in case you're wondering what's going on with the FTP sites, Bryan McDonald hasn't had a chance to install the mirroring software to run on a regular basis. This means that ftp.cp.tn.tudelft.nl is up-to-date with the centralized archive, but ftp.erg.sri.com is 3 weeks out of date. Bryan promises me he'll install the software soon. In addition, we soon should have ftp.funet.fi as our european site, replacing tudelft, as Frits is getting a real job and leaving grad school. 2. Oh yeah, the VGA-Planets like game. Here's the entry: Game: Medieval War Ftp from: ftp.cp.tn.tudelft.nl:/pub/pbm/misc Description: From the README file, looks like a game very similar to xconq or Empire Deluxe, mentioned above. Can be played single-player or play-by-mail; your cities build units and you move them around. In play-by-mail mode, you do one turn, save the game, mail the save-file off to the other players, they play a move, mail it back, and so forth. Requires Windows 3.1. Shareware. Followups set to rec.games.pbm. Up
