My PBM List is quite comprehensive. You can ftp it from:

ftp.erg.sri.com:/pub/pbm
ftp.funet.fi:/pub/doc/games/play-by-email (or something like that)

I personally recommend Olympia, but I haven't played any of the
others, so what would I know. The PBM List also has information about
a couple of magazines that cover the PBM field. Finally, there's a
free game, Atlantis 1.1, that you could play in via email.

[ as an aside, it's a bit distressing that not a single person who
posted in reply told her where the ftp site is. i'm in amsterdam so
i'm not reqding news frequently; next week I'll be at Pennsic and not
reading news at all.  while I'm gone, it would be nice if those who do
know the gritty details could keep others informed. thanks. ]
