Galaxy: New blind game From: roger@bimcore.emory.edu (Roger Dingledine) Date: Thu, 11 Aug 1994 17:36:19 +0000 Around three weeks ago, I got the blind galaxy code successfully set up and compiled on my system, and I have run a number of galaxy games (one of which, galaxy Test, was and is an actual running galaxy game) on it since then. I realize that a lot of people are still on summer vacation, but I also realize that there are very few galaxy games still running, due to their GMs' getting jobs, moving, et cetera. Therefore, I have decided to start up one more relatively large blind galaxy game in order to at least partly fill this gap. Turns will be run three times per week (monday, wednesday, friday) for the first week or so of the game, and after a while I will move to a two_turn/week schedule (turns monday and thursday) so that I can keep my sanity during school. Note that these turn timings are only a rough estimate; tell me if you're interested in having a less frequent turn schedule. I'm not looking for any specific type of player -- we need experienced players, inexperienced players, your friend from high school, the guy who lives down the street...anybody who's interested. If I do indeed get so many requests to join a game that I cannot possibly fit them in one game, I'm more than willing to start a second game to accomodate. So, without further babble, my email address is roger@bimcore.emory.edu . Send email there with a subject of "Galaxy GM" with your email address and any other information you think might be useful or pertinent. Feel free to email me if you just have questions about the game, how to play it, what day of the week it is, etc. I expect to start the game in ten to fifteen days, again depending on how many people want to join. Thanx, --Roger Up
